Tata Motors and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to develop a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy facility. The project is expected to generate around 300 million units of clean energy annually, helping to reduce over two lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
Driving Green Manufacturing Forward
The renewable energy produced will power Tata Motors’ manufacturing plants in Gujarat and Maharashtra, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable vehicle production. The hybrid energy system will supply reliable and cost-effective green energy to six industrial plants, supporting a major shift toward eco-friendly manufacturing.
Pramod Choudhary, Vice President – Operations, Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors, highlighted that this initiative marks a significant step toward achieving green manufacturing goals and contributes meaningfully to India’s broader green energy transition.
