Odisha continues to attract significant investments in its industrial landscape, with two apparel and textile companies recently approved to establish manufacturing facilities in the state. Adishtam Ventures Private Limited will invest $16.21 million (₹139.02 crore) to set up a garment manufacturing plant in Khurda, creating 2,400 jobs. Meanwhile, Anubhav Apparels Pvt. A leading Noida-based garment export house, Ltd. will be setting up a readymade garment manufacturing unit in the same district that will invest $6.06 million (₹52 crore) and create 2,600 jobs.
Anubhav Apparels, having two decades of experience in the industry, employs over 3,000 workers and commands an annual turnover of $30 million. It manufactures nine million pieces of garment every year from its very modernized infrastructure, which gives a rationale behind its quite robust position in the garment export segment. This news goes well with the overall strategy of the Odisha government to make the state an important hub for the apparel and textile industry. Earlier in March 2024, it was reported that six leading apparel companies from Noida and one from Bangalore were also approved to invest in Khurda’s apparel cluster.
In the 133rd meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS, 25 large-scale projects spread across 11 districts were given the green light. These initiatives, with an investment of $492 million, are expected to create over 14,497 job opportunities for Odisha and drive socioeconomic growth.
The projects cover 16 high-impact sectors, with textiles and apparel being a significant focus area, further strengthening the industrial base of the state. These investments not only improve employment opportunities but also contribute to the long-term economic sustainability of Odisha.
Apparel Resources is directly interacting with companies approved under SLSWCA to keep in touch with them regarding their proposed plans and contribution toward industrial growth of Odisha.
