New Devanahalli plant strengthens India presence and supports Silmax’s ₹100 crore revenue goal
Silmax, a global leader in precision cutting tools, today announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Devanahalli, Bengaluru. Spread across 10,000 sq. ft., with 5,000 sq. ft. currently operational, the facility is designed to deliver comprehensive cutting tool solutions that meet global standards of quality and precision. With a monthly production capacity of 4,000 to 5,000 tools, the plant will boost Silmax’s output while ensuring faster response to customer needs across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
The launch marks a major step in Silmax’s global growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to serving India’s expanding aerospace and general engineering industries with high-quality cutting tool solutions.
Silmax’s India operations currently employ 25 professionals. The company plans to expand its team by adding 50 more professionals over the next three years. In addition, Silmax intends to launch skill development programs for engineering graduates starting in 2026, helping to build a strong talent pool for India’s precision manufacturing sector.
“Indian manufacturers are asking for shorter lead times and tool life they can trust. With Devanahalli online, we cut response cycles, customize faster, and keep critical tooling closer to the shop floor.” said Dr. Dario Maria Fumagalli, President and CEO, Silmax. “Additionally, India’s strong focus on aerospace and advanced manufacturing aligns perfectly with our strengths, and we look forward to contributing to this ecosystem through our expertise and world-class solutions.”
“The most valuable asset this facility will build is talent. From 2026, our training program will develop young engineers into high-precision toolmakers. Our vision is long-term. We are investing in people who will shape the future of machining in India.” said, Mr. Francis Kumar, CEO, Silmax India
