At its 48th Annual General Meeting, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) took a bold step toward becoming a deep-tech powerhouse by announcing the launch of Reliance Intelligence, a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to accelerating India’s artificial intelligence capabilities.
The initiative is anchored on four strategic missions: building gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres powered by clean energy in Jamnagar; forging partnerships with global tech leaders and open-source communities; delivering scalable, affordable AI solutions across sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, and small businesses; and nurturing world-class AI talent for research and product innovation.
In a landmark move, RIL deepened its strategic alliances with Google and Meta. Google will collaborate on establishing a dedicated Jamnagar cloud region, optimized for AI workloads, and powered by Reliance’s new energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, Meta is joining forces with RIL through a ₹855 crore joint venture (70:30 split) to create enterprise-ready AI platforms using Meta’s open-source Llama models—tailored for Indian businesses and government.
Reliance’s push into AI also includes scaling up robotics and intelligent automation to enhance industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and agriculture, highlighting the company’s vision for smarter, more efficient, and safer operations.
This comprehensive strategy reflects RIL’s ambition: to not only transform its core operations but to position India at the forefront of the global AI landscape—delivering “AI everywhere, for every Indian.”
