Tata Electronics has appointed KC Ang as the President and Head of its *Foundry business – Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing. He will report to *Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and lead the company’s semiconductor manufacturing operations.
KC Ang brings over 30 years of experience in the foundry industry, having previously served as President – Asia and Chairman – China at *Global Foundries, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing. His expertise spans *fab start-up, operations, technology transfer, and industry relationship management.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Ang stated, “The Indian semiconductor industry is at a pivotal stage with immense global potential. I am excited to contribute my experience to help position Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing as a key player in the global chip manufacturing sector.”
Born in *Malaysia, KC Ang holds a *Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Master’s degree in Engineering from *The University of Texas. He has worked extensively across *Malaysia, Germany, the U.S., and China.
*Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, welcomed Ang, emphasizing his **extensive industry expertise, which will be crucial as Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing progresses towards *commencing operations at the Dholera Fab.
