Accenture and Siemens have launched the Accenture Siemens Business Group, a newly established joint unit aimed at developing software-defined products and manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on agentic AI. Announced at Hannover Messe 2025, this initiative extends the companies’ strategic partnership and will employ 7,000 professionals worldwide with expertise in manufacturing and IT.
The group will drive innovation in software-defined factories by combining industrial technology with AI-driven engineering and manufacturing solutions. Leveraging Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio for automation, industrial AI, and software, alongside Accenture’s expertise in data and AI, the initiative aims to help companies transform their engineering and manufacturing operations.
Siemens AG President and CEO Roland Busch highlighted the benefits of the collaboration: “Two market leaders are combining their strengths in technology, data, software, automation, and industrial AI with Accenture’s expertise in data and AI for engineering and manufacturing.”
Accenture CEO and Chair Julie Sweet emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Engineering and manufacturing mark the next chapter of digitalization.”
The companies have already demonstrated the impact of their collaboration through projects with KION AG and Navantia.
- KION AG, a German multinational specializing in materials handling equipment, is working with Accenture and Siemens to standardize and optimize central engineering processes. Using Siemens Teamcenter as a unified product lifecycle management system, alongside simulation, generative AI, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE), KION is modernizing its engineering workflows.
- Navantia, a Spanish state-owned shipbuilding company, has partnered with Accenture and Siemens to create a new product development platform using Siemens Teamcenter and Capital Logic Designer. This platform facilitates the creation of digital twins of Navantia’s ships, leading to enhanced product design and a 20% reduction in design and manufacturing costs.
Through this expanded partnership, Accenture and Siemens aim to redefine the future of digital engineering and manufacturing.
