In a significant leadership transition, Switch Mobility India has announced that Ganesh Mani will take over as Chief Executive Officer from September 1, 2025. He will succeed S Mahesh Babu, who is stepping down from the role to explore opportunities outside the Hinduja Group. Mani currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Ashok Leyland and will now shoulder dual responsibilities to further strengthen the group’s electric vehicle (EV) vision.
Mahesh Babu, who has been instrumental in establishing Switch as a prominent name in India’s EV commercial vehicle segment, will remain with the company until August 31 to ensure a smooth handover. Under his leadership, Switch India reached EBITDA breakeven in FY25, with strong prospects of achieving net profitability in the near future.
The appointment of Ganesh Mani is seen as a strategic move to align Switch India’s operations more closely with Ashok Leyland. With over two decades of experience in manufacturing, operations, and transformation at major automotive firms, Mani is expected to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and scale up production.
This leadership change comes at a time when Switch Mobility is poised for accelerated growth. The company has already secured orders for over 1,500 electric buses and is expanding its portfolio with light electric commercial vehicles such as the IeV3 and IeV4.
With robust market momentum and a sharper operational focus, Switch Mobility aims to double its revenue in FY26 and solidify its position as a key player in India’s sustainable transportation sector.
