Bengaluru is now home to Rolls-Royce’s newest Global Capability Centre, a sprawling facility with a capacity to house 700 employees, underscoring the company’s continued investment in India’s engineering and aerospace sectors. The centre, which leverages Bengaluru’s talent pool and robust tech ecosystem, will support Rolls-Royce’s operations globally while also playing a strategic role in local capacity building.
The move strengthens what is already a 90-year long legacy for Rolls-Royce in India. Over this period, more than 1,400 Rolls-Royce engines have been deployed across platforms in the Indian Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and Army.
Sources indicate that the Centre will focus not just on routine engineering functions, but also on cutting-edge capability development, R&D, digital services, and maintenance support. The presence of such a large centre is expected to deepen the firm’s footprint, boost high-skilled job creation in Karnataka, and contribute to India’s push for self-reliance in aerospace and defence.
Additionally, the facility’s establishment sends a clear signal to both global and domestic aerospace stakeholders: India remains a preferred destination for advanced engineering and capability-driven operations. With this expansion, Rolls-Royce is not only reinforcing its commitment to India, but also aligning with national goals around indigenous material, skills development, and technology leadership.
