Moving ahead in the year 2025, India will witness a new age of connected vehicles, as cars with the advent of 5G M2M connectivity, AI, and cloud-based technologies start entering the market. According to Techarc’s recently published India Connected Consumer Report 2025, the automotive sector will bypass this generation of 4G technology and adopt 5G to boost the in-vehicle experience across all price points.
The report further says that Indian consumers are likely to enhance the quality and features of their vehicles rather than the number of smart devices they are carrying. 55% of respondents reported recent exposure to news about smart or connected cars, which points to growth in this area.
From 2025, all automobiles priced over Rs 20 lakh in India will have standard 5G M2M connectivity, GenAI, and cloud services. All these technologies can process data real time. Communication apps, OTT entertainment, music streaming, and other such vehicle maintenance services will naturally make the in-car experience much more seamless, interactive, and personalized.
Connected cars are going to transform the Indian automobile market quite extensively, with features that people have seen so far as being the province of premium features on a wide scale of vehicles. Such technologies, according to Sadat Ahanger, an analyst for Techarc, will impact in a big way on such critical areas as safety, comfort, and entertainment, and will change the way Indian consumers relate to driving.
This connected car move comes at a time when the demand for smart, AI-driven, and 5G-enabled cars is on the rise all over the world. As India enters this new stage of automotive innovation, consumers can look forward to a more connected and intelligent driving experience, contributing to the country’s increasing technology footprint in the automotive sector.
