Odysse Electric, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer that has its origins in the city, has announced securing 40,000 units to be purchased by Zypp Electric, an EV-as-a-Service platform. As a part of the tie-up, Odysse Electric will cater to 40,000 vehicles in the next three years. This will cater to the increasing demand for eco-friendly mobility solutions. This will increase Odysse’s production capacity and enhance its distribution capabilities in order to meet the growth prospect in urban and rural landscapes, primarily last-mile delivery.
The new investment in Odysse Electric marks a watershed moment. “Zypp Electric’s fleet electrification prowess will significantly fast-track our expansion into every nook and corner of the country,” added Nemin Vora, CEO, Odysse Electric. With this collaboration, Odysse Electric will expand its portfolio and bolster its manufacturing capability to bring high-quality, customizable electric vehicles for personal and B2B segments.
The deal represents a vital step toward the decarbonizing of last-mile delivery, according to Zypp Electric, which aims to deploy 200,000 EVs within the next two to three years. “Odysse’s commitment to producing better quality EVs that align with our long-term needs is in line with our principles,” says Akash Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric.
Established in 2020, Odysse Electric assembles a broad lineup of electric vehicles-including low and high-speed scooters, delivery scooters, an EV sports bike, and commuter bikes. Offerings include the Vader electric motorcycle, the high-speed EVOQIS electric bike, and SNAP high-speed electric scooter, targeting diverse customer needs, spread all over India.
This strategic investment and order position Odysse Electric to play a crucial role in helping India transition towards sustainable and efficient electric mobility. Increasing demand for electric vehicles in India’s transportation sector further strengthens the market leader, Odysse Electric, in the EV industry with the integration of this firm into Zypp Electric.
