India's Leading Magazine For Manufacturing Industries

As the manufacturing sector undergoes unprecedented change driven by automation, artificial intelligence, energy transition, and geopolitical shifts, HANNOVER MESSE 2026 (20–24 April) is set to present one of its most transformative editions yet. With a revamped thematic structure, new exhibition concepts, and an expanded international focus, the world’s leading industrial trade fair aims to give industries a clear roadmap for competitiveness in an era defined by rapid technological acceleration.

Centred around three major pillars, Automation & Digitalisation, Energy & Industrial Infrastructure, and Research & Technology Transfer, the 2026 edition brings together more than 3,500 exhibiting companies from across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, digital industries, energy technology, and emerging research fields. Artificial intelligence will serve as a unifying theme across all halls, underscoring its central role in next-generation manufacturing.

Automation, AI, and Digital Transformation Take Center Stage

Automation and digitalization form the core of HANNOVER MESSE 2026, reflecting the sector-wide convergence of hardware and software. Exhibitors including Siemens, Schneider Electric, AWS, Microsoft, SAP, Festo, Rittal, Phoenix Contact, Beckhoff, and Wittenstein will demonstrate how AI-driven robotics, autonomous systems, industrial software, and connected devices are reshaping factories.

Visitors will experience innovations ranging from AI-based perception systems and humanoid robots to advanced industrial software enabling real-time data analytics, digital twins, and predictive maintenance. The fair will also highlight growing emphasis on IT/OT security, offering insights into zero-trust architectures, secure cloud solutions, and next-generation cybersecurity frameworks essential for resilient production environments.

Complementing this is Europe’s largest industrial wireless showcase, with 5G, 6G, and IoT solutions presented in the 5G & Industrial Wireless Arena, offering a glimpse into the future of hyper-connected factories.

Energy & Industrial Infrastructure: Powering the Transition to Net-Zero Manufacturing

With energy costs, stability, and sustainability emerging as decisive competitive factors, the “Energy & Industrial Infrastructure” area, spanning Halls 11 to 13, will spotlight the technologies enabling a climate-neutral future. Exhibitors will present storage systems, smart grids, power engineering solutions, hydrogen technologies, and AI-supported energy automation.

Hydrogen remains a major focus, with roughly 300 companies showcasing applications for industrial decarbonization, from process heat to hydrogen-powered mobility. The “Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE” special display will bring together global innovators, research bodies, and policymakers to discuss large-scale implementation pathways.

Research & Technology Transfer: From Lab to Factory

Hall 11 will again house the “Research & Technology Transfer” cluster, where global research institutes, universities, and more than 200 startups will present prototypes, new materials, breakthrough technologies, and business models shaping the future of manufacturing. Exhibitors range from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and DFKI to leading universities and deep-tech startups developing AI platforms, quantum technologies, lightweight materials, and intelligent textiles.

The Startup Area will feature pitches, masterclasses, and networking sessions designed to connect innovators with investors and industry leaders.

New in 2026: The Defense Production Area

Responding to global demand for scalable, secure, and technologically advanced defense manufacturing, HANNOVER MESSE is introducing the Defense Production Area in Hall 26. The new format will focus on production technologies, automation systems, materials, and digital tools designed for security-critical manufacturing. Created in partnership with DSEI Germany, the platform strengthens Europe’s defense industrial base by facilitating targeted interaction between suppliers and manufacturers.

Brazil Named Partner Country

Brazil will take the global spotlight as the Partner Country of HANNOVER MESSE 2026. Under the motto “The Industry of Today”, Brazil will showcase its growing manufacturing ecosystem, digital and energy innovations, and strengthened trade and investment opportunities. With a major presence across multiple halls, Brazil’s delegation, organized by ApexBrasil with support from SEBRAE and the German-Brazilian Chamber, will highlight sectors including automation, machinery, energy technology, and sustainability.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will jointly inaugurate the fair alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on 19 April 2026.

Why You Should Attend HANNOVER MESSE 2026

HANNOVER MESSE is the only global platform that brings together the entire industrial ecosystem, from automation and AI to energy, infrastructure, mobility, materials, and research, under one roof. Whether you are looking to explore new technologies, benchmark global innovations, build strategic partnerships, engage with policymakers, or identify growth opportunities in emerging markets, HANNOVER MESSE delivers unmatched business value. It is the place where the future of industry is shaped, debated, and demonstrated live.
